Scarlett Johansson Divorce 2017 update: Earlier on this week, there was a revelation that the Oscar-nominated actress and Romain Dauriac have decided to go their separate ways after being in a two-and-a-half year old marriage. With her (Scarlett) attorney – Judith Poller – handing Romain’s lawyer, Harold Mayerson with divorce papers. There has been rumours that the divorce would lead to a custody battle over their 3 year old daughter, Rose Dorothy, has Romain wants to raise her in his native, France; He has spoken up and is seeking custody of their child.
‘He plans to petition the court to allow him and his daughter to move to France,’ the lawyer said in a statement.
‘He [Romain] believes that her schedule makes it impossible for her [Scarlett] to have physical custody – unless she intends to have her children raised by nannies and helpers.’
However, the actress hasn’t talked about the custody battle, although she has released a statement to People magazine about the split – stating that for Dorothy’s sake she will not be talking about the issue.
‘As a devoted mother and private person and with complete awareness that my daughter will one day be old enough to read the news about herself, I would only like to say that I will never, ever be commenting on the dissolution of my marriage,’ Scarlett said in the statement.
‘Out of respect for my desires as a parent and out of respect for all working moms, it is with kindness that I ask other parties involved and the media to do the same. Thank you.’
Rumours that the duo were having marriage troubles started last year, after the actress was seen without her wedding ring on a different occasions. In January, Us Weekly reported that they had split last summer.
