Beyonce, 35, and JAY-Z, 47, finally welcomed their first set of twins into the world few days ago – although neither of the names or genders have been officially announced, though they’re thought to be a boy and a girl. Hence, making Blue Ivy let go of her position as the only child, and as such she has already started taking responsibilities; including helping her famous parents come up with names for the little ones!, and 5-year-old Blue Ivy Carter is really thrilled to have two siblings at the same time. New reports states that “Blue Ivy is relishing the role as new big sister. She has been keeping mommy company in the hospital and has even helped in the naming process of her new siblings. Blue is happy and can’t wait to take the new babies home to play with.”
As it is, it may take a little while before the Carters can bring their new loved ones home. Multiple reports say that the babies are dealing with some minor health issues; all indicating that Bey gave birth prematurely. Hopefully the entire family will be safe, happy and healthy in their mansion soon. Although the news of the twins went round on June 17, sources have said Bey actually gave birth on June 12. Either way though, the little ones, a boy and a girl, were reportedly born WAY earlier than planned, making them premature, according to TMZ. The news outlet also claims that the infants are “under the lights” in order to “normalize,” which most likely means they have jaundice. Jaundice is common in preemies and is a liver condition that causes yellowing of a newborn baby’s skin and eyes. Lights help lower bilirubin in the blood to eliminate the jaundice.
Thankfully, jaundice is also a “minor” issue. “Newborn babies may experience jaundice (yellowing of the skin) which may need treatment. Fortunately, most of the nearly 4 million babies born in the U.S. each year are very healthy, even if there is a ‘minor issue’ in the hospital.” Hopefully, the twins will be just fine.
Here is what we know.
